Service Information
Episcopal Church services are participational, and the principal service is the Holy Eucharist. In the pews at either church you will find the "Book of Common Prayer" the use of which enables the congregation to share fully in every service. The large print is the actual service text, the smaller italic print (the "rubrics") gives directions to ministers and people for conduct of the service. A sermon is customary when Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Sundays or on other great Christian feast days such as Christmas.

The 8:00 am Sunday
service at the Chapel is Holy Communion according to the Book of
Common Prayer (Holy Eucharist: Rite I). The service is normally said, without
hymns or other music, but always includes a sermon. As you enter the Chapel,
you will notice an atmosphere of reverence and quiet mediation. An usher
or greeter meets attendees at the door and will offer a printed bulletin
providing all information about the order of service, including page numbers
in the Book of Common Prayer where the complete texts can be found.
After the service, members of the congregation gather for a coffee hour and social time at the west end of the building. Newcomers and visitors are invited to join us to give us a chance to meet and greet you and for you to get to know us. |
The 10:00 am Sunday service at the Brick Church is Holy Communion
according to the Book of Common Prayer (Holy Eucharist: Rite II. The liturgy
is sung and includes hymns for the congregation and anthems and motets by our outstanding Choir
(Click for
information about the Choir). Ushers and greeters meet attendees at the door
and will offer a printed bulletin providing all information about the order of service, including
page numbers in the Book of Common Prayer and hymn numbers in the Hymnal where the complete texts
and music can be found.
After the service, members of the congregation gather for coffee hour and social time at the Parish House adjacent to the Church. Newcomers and visitors are invited to join us to give us a chance to meet and greet you and for you to get to know us.
Sunday School is held at the Parish House from September through May. Sunday School begins at 9:45 with a children's chapel service. Classes end in time for the children and teachers join the congregation in the celebration and reception of the Eucharist.
